Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Christ Church Anglican is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. CCA members are involved in a variety of ministries.

Altar Guild

We faithfully set up and take down the altar for each service. It is a quiet and respectful ministry, caring for the sacramental vessels and linens and setting the Lord’s Table. Gail Barney or Sue Calkins

Cornerstone/Youth Group

This is our group for grades 6 through 12. We meet Wednesday evening from 7:00pm – 9:00pm. We start at Aldersgate Methodist (1621 Thornton)  and end at Christ Church (1200 Texas). Fr. Brian – 782-2877

Mission Outreach

CCA is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers. The missions supported by CCA are located in Nicaragua, Tanzania, India, and Ethiopia. .

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved with sound equipment and Mediashout computer programs. These volunteers are an important part of the ministry of CCA, using their talents and gifts to glorify God. The usher team at CCA fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, issuing the Order of Worship, ensuring the safety of the building during services,  helping visitors, answering questions, collecting the offering and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life. Tom or Sandy Vivian

Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of CCA. In an age of widespread technology, we have a stewardship to use these tools as best as possible for kingdom purposes. All publications are produced in house. We make extensive use of email. We use advanced programs that allow for media projection. We also maintain an active Facebook feed for additional church communication. We have a website, which you are viewing,

www.cupofblessing.org. We publish a newsletter which is mailed to all members. Mary Sims 782-2877

Coffee hours have been provided after worship on most Sundays except during the summer. We even have coffee hours during the “off” season for special occasions.

We also organize lunches and dinners for many special events. We welcome congregation participation at all times. Elaine Whitley and Carol Viche

Lay Reader/Chalice Bearer

A trained team of members who serve at the Lord’s Table and lead the congregation with prayers and scripture.

We provide safe and loving care for little ones, four and under, during the Sunday Worship service. Adults and mature teens work as two person teams. Lynn Tarrant

Prayer Chain

A confidential email based ministry that informs members of prayer concerns. Orders of Worship are also mailed weekly to shut-ins and others unable to attend. Karen Marinos

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knitted or crocheted blankets are made by members and sent to people or friends who are experiencing times of need. These prayer shawls are blessed by our priest asking for healing and comfort. Lynn Tinsley

Intercessory Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. CCA is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, teams of volunteers are available during communion to pray with members.. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Chain, pray for their pastors, church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Monday, the Intercessory Team comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study. Patti Burt

Kid’s Church

In order to give our children the best Bible teaching possible, CCA holds a children’s church service in conjunction with the main service. This special time gives kids more opportunity for interaction and learning in a context and manner that may be better suited to their age and learning styles. Our friendly children’s church volunteers have an endless stream of creativity–ranging from puppet shows, to games, to object lessons.

Angel Tree

A Christmas time program that collects and delivers presents to children of prisoners.

Operation Christmas Child

Shoeboxes full of gifts are sent to needy children. Carol Viche .
