Ministries at CCA …Our Mission to the World

One of the most important values of Christ Church Anglican is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. CCA members are involved in a variety of ministries.

Mission Outreach

CCA is thrilled to be part of the spread of God’s kingdom around the world. We are active in sending missionaries and supporting these missionaries with our money and with our prayers.  Go to our Learn-Serve-Grow page to learn more about our world mission partners.

Prayer Chain and Ministry to Shut-Ins

Intercessory Prayer Warriors

Prayer cannot be overestimated. Prayer moves the hand of God. CCA is a body of believers dependent upon prayer, and committed to God’s sovereignty. Each Sunday, during the morning service, teams of volunteers are available during communion to pray with members.. Throughout the week, volunteers to our Prayer Chain, pray for their pastors, church members, any special requests, and missionary prayer needs. Each Monday, the Intercessory Team comes together for a special time of prayer and Bible study. (Patti Burt)

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Knitted or crocheted blankets are made by members and distributed to individuals who are experiencing times of great need. These prayer shawls are blessed by our priest, asking for healing and comfort. (Lynn Tinsley  – Gail Barney)

Sewing/Quilting Ministry

Music and Liturgical Arts Ministry

God-honoring worship is something we strive for. Many church members get involved in our music ministry. Some play their instruments. Some are vocalists. Others are involved in the choir. Still others get involved with sound, recording, and projection equipment. Interpretation of a fine art image depicting Scripture is presented on the cover of our weekly Order of Service.  These individuals are an important part of the ministry of CCA, using their talents and gifts to glorify God.  (Patti Burt, Charlie Joyce, Jim Burt, Jim Kelly, Natalie Best, Sallie Ulsher)

Lay Reader/Chalice Bearer

A trained team of members who serve at the Lord’s Table and lead the congregation with prayers and scripture. (Fr. Brian and Dn. Nan)

Ushers

The usher team at CCA fills an important role. They are involved in directing attendees to their seats, distributing the Order of Worship, ensuring the safety of the building during services, helping visitors, answering questions, collecting the offering and generally ensuring that the service can proceed problem-free. The usher team is a servant-hearted group of men and women whose ministry is integral to church life. (Tom and Sandy Vivian)

Hospitality

Coffee hours have been provided after worship on most Sundays except during the summer.
We even have coffee hours during the “off” season for special occasions. We also organize lunches and dinners for many special events. We welcome congregation participation at all times. (Elaine Whitley and Vicky Dean)

 Media & Technology

Using media to spread the gospel is a privilege of CCA. In an age of widespread technology, we use  these tools for the greater good of Christ’s Kingdom.  Among those tools include: this website, our Facebook page (Christ Church Anglican), video projection during services, extensive use of e-mail to our church family, and in-house publication of worship bulletins and newsletters.
